COVID has put a HUGE load on internet use and service speed, & should be considered when coming here to VACATION. The cabin is located just off Hwy 107, 4 miles north of Cashiers intersection of 64 W and Hwy 107, (which is 12 miles from Highlands). Hwy 107 runs along the eastern side of the large and beautiful Lake Glenville; our home is only several hundred yards from HWY 107 and Lake Glenville. Access is paved, drive has a significant incline which accomodates 2 wheel drive in normal seasonal weather, but in adverse conditions (ie, snow/ice), FWD, AWD or 4WD vehicles recommended. This is a beautiful Craftsman style home, well built, with much detail and care, to embrace the setting. There are over 30 windows and plentiful porch space. It is in excellent condition, well loved and cared for. We’ve kept the charm, such as the warm pine flooring but made updates where needed. New appliances include: refrigerator, sink/faucet, 5 burner gas range cooktop, dishwasher, keurig and toaster oven, large capacity washer and dryer. Gas Fireplace inserts are new and lower fireplace refaced. New carpet throughout bedrooms and stairwells. Kitchen is remodeled and there is new lower level hard surface flooring and we added a back paved drive/gravel parking area. Stair access to lower level from back drive/park area was recently added. Things to do: Picnic or simply come sit by the lake - only a 5 min walk, any time of day, to enjoy this gorgeous area with nearby Lake Glenville access- (easy to pop in a canoe, kayak or paddle board). A copper outdoor fire pit can be enjoyed on the deck or moved to the stone patio for roasting marshmallows, making smores or just enjoying the glow of a fire. Look up and see more stars and constellations than you can see in any big city. This is a really fun gathering spot after dark. Bring your motor boat and tie up at the private dock. The dock is situated on the main body of the lake where you have long views in all directions. A swim ladder allows easy access to the lake for those that don’t want to make a splash. The fifth bedroom is a loft with its own half bathroom. The loft has beautifully pitched high ceilings, it's own climate control NEST thermostat and 3 full sized beds. Two of the beds roll into the wall when not in use. The loft is perched above the main floor and overlooks the living room, kitchen and dining room. The home has Sonos, full internet, a wifi extender, at&t hub, (Verizon is the preferred carrier of the area for best reception.) It’s a smart home with remote electronic locks and climate control. There are 2 separate zones for central heating and cooling with in floor ventilation. There is an extra large Big Green Egg for the barbeque purist and an electric grill option. There is a rustic fire pit in the backyard down by the lake. Our home has a gentle slope down to the lake making it easily accessible for all ages. One of Lake Glenville’s protected islands sits just offshore of the home’s 130+ feet of lake frontage. What a bonus! In the summertime, the water between the back yard and the island is shallow, providing the perfect swimming lagoon for children. And adults especially appreciate the balmy temperature this shallower body of water provides as the sun glistens and warms it the whole day through. During the Fall and Winter months, the water level of Lake Glenville is lowered by way of the dam. This creates a sandbar which reveals an enormous sandy beach spanning the estate all the way to the outer island. The island promises to afford countless hours of good old fashioned outdoor fun for you and your little pirates year round! Our cottage is located in a gated community 3 miles off of Highway 107 in Glenville, NC. We are also 9 miles from "the crossroads" in Cashier, NC - which is about a 15 - 20 minute drive. The home has 3 bedrooms with the master located on the second floor. Within the master you will find a king sized bed and a nice walk in tiled shower, along with his and hers sinks. On the main level there are two additional bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen sized bed and its own full bathroom with walk-shower. The third bedroom contains two sets of bunk beds with additional trundles which can sleep 6. This third bedroom connects to a full bath with bathtub, which is also accessible from the hallway. The living, kitchen and dinning is designed to offer an area for gathering. Enjoy, a 4k 60" tv with a blue ray dvd player (direct tv). We DO HAVE WIFI capability and CellPhone service for most carriers work well at the house. There is also a wood burning fireplace inside to kick your feet up and relax. On the back porch take in the mountain views while relaxing in front of the gas burning fireplace. There is also a propane gas grill as well. The house has a fully furnished kitchen with duel oven for cooking large meals along with a dishwasher. We do have a washer/dryer that includes detergent so you don't have to worry about bringing your own. For the younger bundles of joy we offer a 2 Pack N Plays in the upstairs master, walker on the bottom floor, as well as a booster seat. Don't leave the family pet behind they need a vacation too. We allow pets with prior approval (2 dog limit). There is a non-refundable fee of $150. We do ask for flee and tick meds be used on dogs. All shots are updated and current...All of our neighbors have dogs too, they are all friendly but important that you let them greet off leash before you let them just freely roam. We do ask that you pick up after your dogs deposits. And if any dogs have separation anxiety we ask you kennel pet while you are away. So come enjoy the Western North Carolina Mountain Views. The full bathroom is on the main level along with the third private Queen Bedroom. There is extra sleeping space with the Queen Sleeper-sofa in the living area along with an extra twin sleep area. She/he has been spotted occasionally over the years as it glides past our home and lands in the tree on the water’s edge. What a treat! Lake Glenville (with its 27 miles of shoreline & many waterfalls) is also home to many critters. Ducks, geese, otters, beavers, deer, several types of fish, and even a very occasional black bear can be spotted. Nature reigns in this place as all find peace at the end of this old country lake road in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. You will find your way to this wonderful gem just a few minutes down Fenley Forest Trail – a woodsy drive near Trillium Links and Lake Club.
